As reported by the BBC, participants of the new fitness scheme could be rewarded with goods of up to £40
The initiative known as Better Health: Rewards is set to run for a year for the first time in England.
The program is aimed to incentivise the community to get into better shape by offering them rewards.
For approximately 20 weeks, people can get points each time they achieve a certain task. These points can then be exchanged for clothes, cinema tickets and groceries from stores like Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, Tesco and Aldi. Amazon and Argos are expected to join the scheme with gift vouchers.
A budget of £3m has been allocated to the project for participants who complete the weekly tasks.
