As reported by the BBC, the British Medical Association has warned of a three-day strike depending on the Monday voting outcome
Professor Philip Banfield of the BMA has condemned the government for refuting further discussions concerning the salary of healthcare staff.
The BMA has announced a three-day strike following the ballot results on Monday should the 45,000 staff members vote for industrial action.
The government has warned that augmenting salary for junior doctors is currently undoable.
“All NHS staff are standing up for our patients in a system that seems to have forgotten that valuing staff and their well-being is directly linked to patient safety and better outcomes of care,” says Banfield.
A spokesperson from the Department of Health and Social Care has responded that the Health and Social Care secretary will continue to negotiate with medical associations to improve the NHS.
