As reported by The Independent, the NHS crisis causes its employees to direct patients elsewhere
Statistics from the Financial Times report approximately 500 deaths per week in England due to the breakdown of the NHS emergency care services.
“Even as a senior employee and stalwart supporter of the NHS, my advice to patients is this: forget it. Beg, borrow or steal to go private instead,” says Dr. Emma Jones, a casualty consultant with over 25 years of experience in A&E.
Figures revealed by NHS Digital on the 19th August demonstrate over 1M casualty patients waiting over 12 hours for care between April 2021 and March 2022.
Dr. Jones holds higher ups partially accountable for the crisis as she highlights their lack of care for the amounts of lives being lost from a clinical perspective.
