GP surgery to permanently shut its doors

As reported by The BBC, a two-week survey will be provided to patients for their opinion of a Cornwall GP surgery closure

When COVID hit, Trescobeas Surgery branch temporarily shut its doors in early 2020 and is now in route to permanent closure following a lack of staff availability.

Patients managed their appointments with doctors and nurses through a telephone triage system with a small period of face-to-face appointments available – many of which remained unbooked.

“The practice cites its Care Quality Commission regulations along with a severe lack of workforce availability, which is affecting many parts of the healthcare system, as primary reasons for making the closure permanent.” says an NHS spokesperson.

A public meeting on the 13th of September coupled with a two-week poll will allow the population to raise any concerns about the closing of the surgery.
