When and how to notify the CQC about an incident relating to your service that is reported to, or investigated by, the police

When you need to tell the CQC about police involvement

You must notify the CQC of incidents which may affect someone’s health, safety and welfare when using, visiting or working at your service. You must tell them without delay.

If you have an account with the CQC Provider Portal you can send your notification to the CQC online. If you don’t have access to the portal you can notify them by filling in a form and emailing it to [email protected]. NHS trusts do not need to notify us about police attendance.
