As reported by NHE, London’s largest NHS GP surgery, Wembley Park Medical Centre, triples in size, enhancing services for 25,000 patients
The site is operated by Wembley Park Medical Centre and represents the largest NHS GP surgery in north west London — serving up to 25,000 patients; a 30% service provision increase.
The newbuild has been open since last month and boasts:
- An e-consult room
- Two clinical suites
- Four treatment rooms
- 14 consult exam rooms
The site now facilitates minor surgery and respiratory testing too — something not possible at the old estate, which is a 10-minute walk away.
Ultimately, the surgery provides enough space for 14 GP staff, including doctors, clinical pharmacists, physician associates, and GP assistants.
“This new purpose-built facility is fit for modern care and treatment, with state-of-the-art primary care facilities and services as well as an increase in staff,” said Dr Sachin P Patel, GP partner at Wembley Park Medical Centre.
“This is not only going to hugely benefit the local community but also our staff, who have been working in cramped conditions for many years. I am grateful for Quintain and Brent Council’s time and investment into the improvement of our local services.”
The site has been designed by architects, The Manser Practice, and delivered by development and asset management company, Quintain.
Sachin added: “I have been a GP at the surgery for 11 years and I’m thrilled for the opening of the new space, which now allows us to serve a larger proportion of the community.
“Our new premises will continue to have that familiar and family-like approach which it has had since the practice began in 1970.”
