Committee to hear from health minister on the future of general practice

Minister for Patient Safety and Primary Care Maria Caulfield MP will be questioned in the final session of the inquiry into the future of general practice on Tuesday 12 July at 11.05am

Scope of the session

Key issues that have been raised in earlier evidence sessions are expected to be discussed, including the continuity of care for patients, the future of the GP partnership model, and regional variation in general practice.

The inquiry into the future of General Practice has taken evidence on the GP workforce, the recruitment and retention and non-GP staff, the GP partnership model, patient access, and the integration of primary and secondary care. It has also examined the impact of the NHS backlog on general practice.
