As reported by Digital Health, NHS England is set to roll out the 2025 Digital Maturity Assessment in the coming weeks, helping trusts assess their digital progress
NHS England announced plans to launch the next phase of its Digital Maturity Assessment (DMA), as revealed by Vin Diwakar during a keynote speech at Digital Health Rewired.
Speaking on the Digital Transformation Stage to open the second day of the event, the national director of transformation confirmed that NHS England would be rolling out the 2025 DMA within weeks, following the benchmarking of 320 NHS providers in the previous assessment.
The DMA, introduced in 2023, is a survey designed to help NHS trusts and integrated care systems across England assess their level of digital maturity by identifying both strengths and areas needing improvement in digital service delivery.
For the first time, the previous year’s assessment included primary care. However, NHS England had confirmed that there were no plans to include social care in the upcoming round of the DMA.
During his address, Diwakar also reiterated NHS England’s commitment to investing at least £2.1 billion in digital infrastructure. The investment is aimed at supporting the NHS in making three significant shifts, as outlined in Lord Darzi’s review: moving from sickness to prevention, from hospital to community care, and from analogue to digital services.
