Sudden practice closure leaves nearly 2,000 without a GP

Kent Live has reported that a surgery, which previously had just one GP, has suddenly closed

Almost 2,000 patients have been left without a GP after Sittingbourne surgery closed suddenly this week.

The practice had just one GP, Dr Hendrik Beerstecher, who has been suspended following a tribunal.

Beerstecher is, therefore, not allowed to treat patients. Swale CCG is currently attempting to make alternative arrangements for all 1,768 of those patients.

An NHS spokesperson said said: “All patients will receive a letter outlining their options and explaining how to register with another GP practice in the coming weeks.

“Patients should wait for this letter to arrive before registering with another GP surgery and take this with them to the surgery.”
