NHS calls for IT professionals in new ad campaign

As reported by Digital Health, NHS England is calling for more IT professionals within the NHS

NHS England is encouraging more people to apply for IT jobs within the health service with a new campaign.

The newly-released advert calls for IT professionals to join the NHS. It has been shared on social media by many users – healthcare professionals and otherwise.

Health Education England CIO, James Freed, also shared the ad. He said:

“Today we’ll see the very first nationwide TV advertising campaign to attract digital staff to the NHS. Fab recognition of people who are keeping the show on the road.”

The advert shows some of the ways in which IT is used in healthcare: on wards, in theatres and in offices across Southampton General Hospital.

Jo Watts, global digital exemplar programme manager at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We are delighted to be able to showcase some of our staff and developments across the trust in this recruitment campaign for IT and support workers across the NHS.

“It is a privilege to be able to share the many diverse roles within the NHS – and within informatics itself – to people nationwide and we look forward to seeing some familiar faces on our screens over the coming weeks.”
